Families graduating from Kentucky’s HANDS voluntary home visiting program took a few minutes to say thank you (watch the video)! The program is available to families experiencing extra challenges during pregnancy and up to their child’s second birthday. Home visitors provide information, guidance and support as families work to provide a safe, stimulating and healthy start for their infants and toddlers – beginning steps for school readiness.  Provisions of Senate Bill 74, enacted in House Bill 366 by the 2013 legislature, will ensure state and federal funds spent on home visiting are used for programs that get results, are part of a system of care and do not duplicate other programs. Thanks to our policy makers for supporting HANDS and this legislation.
