2022 Virtual Candidate Forums

At The Prichard Committee, we strive to ensure a Big Bold Future for all Kentuckians and while we know that the path to a larger life begins with a quality education for all – birth through post-secondary – we also understand the power of civic engagement.  Strong civic engagement is a key ingredient in a healthy society.  One of the ways civic engagement is measured is by voter turnout. At Prichard we track voter turnout as one of 13 metrics in our Big Bold Future National Rankings report to measure citizen engagement. You will hear Prichard’s Big Bold Future report referenced throughout each candidate forum.  The report is used to measure Kentucky’s progress on educational and quality-of-life outcomes and ranks Kentucky’s progress in relation to other states.  The report is a helpful guide in determining where our commonwealth is excelling and where Kentucky needs more help in putting all citizens on the path to a larger life.

By conducting several candidate forums in the buildup to the general election in November, our hope is to see more Kentuckians become engaged, informed citizens and to exercise their right to vote!  In the words of our President & CEO, Brigitte Blom:

“Engaged communities—with families and children at the center—are vital to improving education outcomes in Kentucky.”

While we could not hold a forum for every Kentucky House and Senate district up in the 2022 midterm elections, we hope the ones covered in this series will inspire all Kentuckians to be informed voters in their communities. Please check in throughout October as more forum recordings become available.
