Family Friendly Schools

Before you begin exploring the application process, it’s important to submit this form providing your contact information. The five steps are often easier than they seem, and we want to make sure you receive all the tools and support we offer as you go through the process.

The KY Collaborative for Families and Schools was developed under the Statewide Family Engagement Center grant from the U.S. Department of Education. However, activities do not necessarily represent the policy of the U.S. Department of Education and you should not assume endorsement by the Federal Government.

Skim the KY Family and School Partnership Guide for base knowledge

This is your all in one place document. Scroll to page 18 of the document for a detailed checklist to get Family Friendly certified.

Step 3

Take the School Self-Assessment and Online Training Modules

Choose one objective of the Self-Assessment with the KY Family Engagement Digital Playbook


Find ideas to support each objective in the KY Family Engagement Digital Playbook.

Step 5

Apply for Kentucky Family Friendly Certificate

Spring application window is March 15th thru May 1st.
Fall application window is August 15th through October 1st.

Applications will be accepted March 15th through May 1st and August 15th through October 1st.
