Teresa is a social justice advocate passionate about civic engagement, community building, and social policy. She has spent nearly eight years in public service including roles as a Policy Analyst for the Speaker of the Nevada State Assembly, Metro Council Liaison to the Mayor’s Office in Louisville Metro Government, and Executive Director of Legislative Affairs for Commonwealth’s Finance and Administration Cabinet. Across these roles, she has worked at the intersection of policy, politics, and community, building relationships across government and with community leaders to guide intergovernmental efforts and advance equitable outcomes.
Committed to service, she has volunteered as a mediator with Restorative Justice Louisville and served on the boards of Pandora Productions and New Leaders Council Kentucky.
Teresa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, and a dual Master of Science in Social Policy and Master of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania. Fluent in Spanish, she’s a globetrotting aficionado originally from Brooklyn, New York, and currently calls Old Louisville home.
Since 1983, the Prichard Committee has worked to study priority issues, inform the public and policy makers about best practices and mobilize citizens, business leaders, families, students, and other stakeholders in a shared mission to move Kentucky to the top tier of all states for education excellence and for all children, from their earliest years through postsecondary education.
