Rev. Donavan Pinner and Daniel Kemp, both of Hopkinsville, have been selected to be members of the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence. Pinner serves as Associate Minister at Virginia Street Baptist Church in Hopkinsville. He is also a Special Education teacher at his former middle school. Kemp is a Hopkinsville attorney and a U.S. Army veteran. He is also a former Mayor of Hopkinsville and former Chair of the Murray State Board of Regents.

The Prichard Committee is an independent, nonpartisan, citizen-led organization working to improve education in Kentucky – early childhood through postsecondary – so that we will achieve a better quality of life for all residents.

“Prichard Committee members believe public education is critical to the economic and social well-being of Kentucky,” said Brigitte Blom Ramsey, President & CEO. “Donavan and Daniel will work to inspire other Kentuckians to act on improving education outcomes at all levels and will be an asset to the committee.”
